The UK-ALUMOTOR consortium is building the UK’s electric motor supply chain by leveraging our manufacturing expertise to deliver the next generation of sustainable electric motors.

The UK-ALUMOTOR consortium, led by Ricardo with Aspire Engineering, Brandauer, Warwick Manufacturing Group at The University of Warwick, Phoenix Scientific Industries, and Global Technologies Racing, has been formed to develop a supply chain around an innovative proprietary design for an electric motor.

Over the nine-month project, the partners will identify and develop preferred manufacturing processes which are suitable for volume production of the patented motor design from a UK supply chain, whilst refining the design to meet the future requirements of our UK and international stakeholders.

The UK-ALUMOTOR consortium was recently awarded government funding from the UK Research and Innovation’s Driving Electric Revolution Challenge fund. Find out more.

Ricardo's role

Ricardo is leading the consortium, leveraging over 100 years of innovative engineering expertise to help kickstart the UK’s green revolution. We developed the innovative proprietary design of the electric motor upon which the manufacturing strategy will be built and will contribute our expertise in PEMD development and our capability in niche manufacture.
